Introduction

Gluing applications on floor-model paper folding machines have been performed for several years using a variety of equipment. The most common applications have been for 8-page booklets. Current glue-system designs have replaced more cumbersome, labor-intensive and messy systems. Many different jobs can be easily performed today. These systems offer an affordable, labor-saving alternative to tabbing equipment, since the gluing is done during the folding process. The recent U.S. Postal Service reforms are causing a lot of interest in alternative sealing methods.
