Accessories Floor Model Folders
BAUM has a wide variety of accessories and enhancements for additional capabilities that add value to the BAUM folder line. Value can be added to the bindery by adding a BAUM gatefold attachment, or retrofitting the BAUM folder to add a gluing system for multiple mailing applications.
BAUM ifold
ifold is a patent-pending product featuring a tutorial interface available only on the new “ifold” series BAUM floor model folders. ifold is an industrial computer with a touch-screen monitor that provides information to the operator on setup, maintenance, operation, troubleshooting and more. It does not drive any automated settings when it is sold as the ifold on manual-setup BAUM ifold series folders.
The ifold is also sold to operate as an integral component of the new BAUM AutoSet automated folding series. It is not designed to be added to older model folders manufactured prior to the introduction of the ifold series of machines. It is used in conjunction with other electrical and mechanical feature changes found only on the new “ifold” and AutoSet series BAUM floor model folders. “ifold” is available as the BAUM 15 ifold, BAUM 20 ifold Pile Feed, BAUM 20 ifold Continuous Feed, BAUM 26 ifold Continuous Feed and the BAUM 30 ifold Continuous Feed Folders.

BAUM Gatefold Attachment
Increases versatility and profitability. Can be mounted in the parallel or 8-page folders. The gatefold unit is designed with a precision solid-state timing control for ease of operation and quick job changeovers.

BAUM Jam Detector
To detect paper jams as they occur at the exit end of a folding station, automatically stopping the folder. A diagnostic message will appear on the 2020 operator panel when a jam is detected.

Remote Control
Enables the operator to control sheet feeding and folder drive from the delivery. It also provides a portable control to assist setup for perfing, scoring and slitting, and for sending test sheets when setting fold plates.

Static Reducer
Consists of two static bars and a power unit (115V / 60Hz). Neutralizes the electric charges by creating an ionization field around the two bars.

Marble Controller
This assembly controls the last four marbles on the crosscarrier to hold the sheet against the gage, ensuring that the sheet is guided squarely into the fold rolls. only used on the right-angle folders.

Kit to Convert Hangon Stacker to Mobile
Converts existing hang-on stacker to become a free-standing mobile unit. Adjustable height mechanism.

Microperf
A special, very fine perforation that tears clean when pulled apart. This perf is used for stocks that need perforations and must be fed again through copiers, laser printers, etc.

Wetscore
Provides tighter folds and greatly reduces cracking at the folded edge by applying an extremely fine line of wetscore solution to the stock. It can be mounted to the parallel, 8-page. or 16-page.

Segmented Folding Rollers
A core shaft and precision segments to provide the ability to move the segments to create open areas for glue to travel to keep keep the glue from wiping off onto the rollers. Also used for creating open areas for applications where tip on cards and other items may not need to contact the folding rollers. The #1 roller is different from the other rollers due to the fact that the main encoder must be mounted on the end.

Exit Total Count Sensor
Mounts at the exit area of the last folder in the setup. Provides a second count to compare to the first count of the sensor reading at the pile feeder count. Also provides an added bonus of serving as a jam detector if the sheet stays under the sensor too long.

Exit Batch Count Kicker Kit
Mounts to the exit end of the last folder in the setup. A metal plate is triggered by a solenoid to “kick” the sheet as it passes the exit area to turn it. This provides a marker of the batch.

Independent Power Box Full Features
This power box provides the capability to operate 8-page and 16-page right angle folders independently from the parallel 1st station folder. The box includes the capability to connect both the 8 and 16 page and operate at the same time, 2-tiered rollaway delivery, hang on delivery, remote control, VDS delivery, and BAUM presser stacker deliveries. It includes an on button, E-stop and overload indicator light. The box is mounted in the field.

Independent Power Box Limited Features
This control box can power an 8-page or 16-page independently without the need for the 1st station parallel folder. You can also power an 8 and 16 page together. The box includes plugs for a hang-on delivery stacker and a gatefold control. It also has a power and an E-Stop button. It mounts to the crosscarrier of the 8 or 16 page folder using existing holes in the crosscarrier rails that match the holes in the box.

Center Trim Kits
BAUM offers a wide selection of center trim kits. BAUM has center trim kits for 7/8 inch, 1-1/8 inch and 35 mm diameter shafts. The model or folder determines which diameter slitter shaft is used. The width of the strip to be removed needs to be determined before ordering the kit.

Edge Trim Kits
BAUM offers edge trim kits for 7/8inch, 1-1/8inch and 35mm diameter slitter shafts. The model and shaft size determine which kit is used. The kits include the edge strippers that deflect the waste to the floor when trimming.

Perforating Kits
BAUM offers a wide selection of perforating kits. BAUM has perforating kits for 7/8 inch, 1-1/8 inch and 35 mm diameter shafts. The model of folder determines which diameter slitter shaft is used. The perf kit selection includes very coarse to very fine perforations per inch capability.

Gluing Fold Plates
These fold plates have grooved areas in the intake nose so that live glue does not make contact with the fold plate. There is normally a grooved, relieved area wherever there is not a rib in the fold plate.
